What does echocardiography mean?

Echocardiography is a modern and safe method of ultrasound examination of the heart - the method of ultrasound, aimed at the study of functional changes in the heart and its valvular apparatus. It is based on the capture of ultrasonic signals, which are reflected from the heart and its structures. Echo radiation is not an invasive method, and does not cause any harm to the patient. ECG allows you to get an image of the heart muscle directly in action. When controlling artificial heart valves, as well as with insufficient effect of transthoracic echocardiography and diagnosis of intracardiac thrombi, transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is used.

Our center wields a modern 4D echo equipment, which considerable simplifies and boosts the process of ECG. An echo examination of the patient does not imply any special preparations. With the help of ECG, it is possible to assess the following indicators:

  • Primary examination of valvular heart disease;
  • Determination of the effect of blood pressure on the activity of the heart;
  • Functional analysis of vessels emerging from the heart;
  • Evaluation of the condition (activity) of the heart muscle in many diseases;
  • Diagnosis of congenital heart diseases;
  • Definition of the effects of certain drugs on the heart;
  • Cases of thromboembolism
